Welcome to exercise 2 of the Data Stream Fundamentals Superbadge Unit. In this exercise we’ll be creating a custom formula so that we can identify international contact.

Step 1: Create New Formula Field

(1) In the Data Cloud app – click on the nine dots and search for Data Cloud.
(2) Click on Data Streams.
(3) Click on Contact_Home or the Contact data stream.

Click on New Formula Field.

(1) For the Field Label paste in: International Contact
(2) The Field API name will auto populate.
(3) Select Boolean type as this will be either True or False.
(4) Salesforce provides multiple formulas, but the following works best: (sourceField[‘MailingCountry’] != “USA”) AND (sourceField[‘MailingCountry’] != “US”)
(5) Test the formula by entering in a non-USA country like Greece.
(6) Click Test and validate either true or false.
(7) Click Save.
